Anthony and Caroline Cafe Awards in Tasmania
Hi All,
In March this year Latte and Lunch entered a competition run by Pauls Milk (Parmalat) for Cafe of the year 2007. We had four rounds Judging by mystery shoppers and six weeks ago we were told we made it to the Grand Final. 2,600 shops entered and the final 50 stores were all invited to Hobart this weekend for an all expenses paid weekend for the Grand Final awards night.
We were very proud to make the grand final and although we did not manage to take out the Cafe of the year for 2007, we did make the top 10. The Winner was "The Lagoon Cafe" in Cairns. Always next year.......if we are still there.
We were treated to an oyster farm, (although we don't eat seafood) on arrival in Hobart. On the Friday night we were taken by a luxury Catamaran one hour south of Hobart to a restaurant called Peppermint Bay for dinner. On Saturday morning we drove to the top of Mt Wellington, the highest mountain in Tasmania and push biked back to Hobart. We managed to have a look at the Salamanca Markets for Lunch before having a Massage and facial in the afternoon before the Awards night. The Awards were held in a five star hotel called the Henry Jones hotel. It was the original Jam factory over 100 years ago that IXL brought out and is right next to the Royal Hobart Yacht Club. Michael Caton from Hot Properties was the MC / Host for the weekend ...he was great. (Tell him he's dreamin)
We have just returned to Brisbane this afternoon and back to the warmer weather. Back to the shop tommorrow. It was nice to have made it so far and be recognized as making Latte and Lunch a success....maybe not financially but recognized for doing a good job anyway.

QLD Coopers First Blog Posting
The First Posting from QLD Coopers
We are still learning as we go but wanted to post a few pictures.
Latte and Lunch is now past it's first birthday and we are still going.
We entered a Cafe of the year compition in March this year and from 2,800 cafes from around Australia have made the final 50 in Australia. We are going to Tassie on an all expenses paid weekend (first days off from the shop in getting close to 18 months). Will take the camera and blog the photos and tell you how we go. It is on the 17th of November.
Paris and Max are going great school will be over before they know it. They finish in QLd on the 4th of DEC.
Good to see picture of the new family members. Congratulations to Marie -Ann & Joe and Chris and David.

Benjamin Conrad Sheil is born!!!
Introducing Benny Boy to Family. Born 18/10/07, 8:25am, 3.29kg (7.4 pound), 50 cm long (20"). he was born in emergency bay carpark as he didn't want to wait any longer. He was officially delevered by his dad who took the catch of his life!!! Mum, Ben, Jac and Dad all doing great.

Coast Coopers go to Port Stephens to not see Dolphins

Clancy's Soccer Grandfinal
This is my soccer team the 11'f the score was 1-1. In the real game it was 1-1 against Terrigal 1. Then there was extra time and still it was 1-1. After we had to go to penalty shoot outs, and we lost by bad reffing!!

Jacqui Goes Bowling
Over the APEC long weekend we went bowling up at Bateau Bay!!! She won the first game (with the ramp and bumpers in place) but with Dad's help fell to last in the second game
